penguin sleds

In He Puna Kawenga we had something called active learning this week. I made penguin sleds and it was super fun. If you want to make them here are the instructions.

Step 1.  Get 1 piece of cardboard and 5 straws.
Step 2. 5 pipe cleaners.

Step 3. 90 centimeter of tape.
Step 4. Washers for weights.
Step 5. Scissors.
Step 6. You get the cardboard and make the base of the sled.
Step 7. Once you do that you decorate it.
Step 8. Try it on the slide and see if it works, if it works that's how you do it.

Active learning week 9

For  Active  learning  my group did cooking. We cooked pikelets. We had to use
1 egg
1/4 cups of sugar
¾ cups of milk
1 cup of flower
1 quarter teaspoon of Edmin salt
25 g [ 1 oz. ] butter

Beat the egg and sugar until thick and add with the milk to make the flower soft ,salt and baking powder. Lastly add melted butter. Mix until smooth and cook in spoonfuls on hot greased pan.

The Amazing Carlton School

In He Puna Kawenga we have been learning  to write descriptions. You have to be good at noting, observing and wondering. We went around the School doing this then wrote poems inspired by Frank Kendon.Enjoy Reading our poems.

Active learning

 We had to read a book about snow flakes for active learning. We had to write six facts then create a symmetrical snowflake. Here are my six facts
  Snow is softer then hail. 
The particles freeze one by one. 
A snowflake grows. 
Light and fluffy snow is called powder. 
blizzard happens  when there is  a snow storm. 
Snow reflects high levels of ultraviolet. 

A place remembered

we have been describing a room in our house hear is my discripsheen When the door opens a poster of a huge transformer will be seen. High on the huge white shelf is a pichau, it guards the room. When the wardrobe door opens it makes a bang!!! all the toys come out like a big wave.
