2019 Keep NZ clean everyone

In our class room He Puna Kawenga was getting ready to clean up Carlton school and the streets around Carlton school. First we had to put on a blue glave so we didn't get our hands dirty from wet rubbish. Then we lined up. We walked down London street and we also came down Fitzherbert Ave. We had to make sure we didn't cross into the others class's cleaning areas. The rubbish we found was cigarette butts, wet paper, newspaper, beer bottles, a straw, Mc Donald's bags, glass, plastic, coke bottles, boxes of cigarettes, and wires. I felt happy picking up rubbish because I don't like our streets being dirty. I like them nice and clean.

Keep NZ clean everyone and I mean it NZ.

my six sentence story

In Room 4 we have been creating six sentence stories. We had to imagine, create and innovate to get the perfect piece of writing. Then we had to transfer it onto a google slide. I liked doing it. Here is mine.

In He Puna Kawenga we had something called active learning this week. I made penguin sleds and it was super fun. If you want to make them here are the instructions.

Step 1.  Get 1 piece of cardboard and 5 straws.
Step 2. 5 pipe cleaners.

Step 3. 90 centimeter of tape.
Step 4. Washers for weights.
Step 5. Scissors.
Step 6. You get the cardboard and make the base of the sled.
Step 7. Once you do that you decorate it.
Step 8. Try it on the slide and see if it works, if it works that's how you do it.

Active learning

We had to read a book about snow flakes for active learning. We had to write six facts then create a symmetrical snowflake. Here are my six facts
  Snow is softer then hail.
The particles freeze one by one.
A snowflake grows.
Light and fluffy snow is called powder.
blizzard happens  when there is  a snow storm.
Snow reflects high levels of ultraviolet.
